If you receive a phone call beginning with what appears to be area code 911 it is a spam call. Any phone number such as 911-xxx-xxx does not exist.

911 is officially an abbreviated phone number used to provide emergency assistance utilized throughout the United States and Canada.

911 is designated as a special use N11 code assigned and administered by the North American Numbering Plan Administrator (NANPA).
